Information and advice

Through the Nacro helpline, we provide information and advice to employers and others carrying out Disclosure Criminal record checks:

     ·         on interpreting information on Disclosures
     ·         on assessing risk
     ·         on their responsibilities under employment, public
            protection and Disclosure law
     ·         on their responsibilities to treat Disclosure applicants fairly

We also provide information and advice to Disclosure applicants:

     ·         about whether convictions are spent under the
            Rehabilitation of Offenders Act
     ·         about disclosing criminal records
     ·         about their rights under employment, data protection
            and Disclosure law
     ·         about their rights following suspension or dismissal from
            employment
